Murali Krishna D is an accomplished Engineering Director at Apple with over 25 years of experience in building high-performing engineering teams and delivering multiple data/big data/web scale platforms. He has a proven track record of successfully enabling business transformation through his fine blend of engineering, technology, innovation, and people leadership skills. At Apple, Murali is the Site Lead & Head of Engineering - GBI, where he is responsible for building petabyte scale cloud data platforms such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. He has also modernized data platforms and delivered real-time, batch, and predictive insights using data science and ML. His expertise in engineering for scalability and performance has enabled him to build high-performance engineering teams that are customer-obsessed and focused on innovation. Prior to joining Apple, Murali has held leadership positions at Gap and Microsoft. At Gap, he was the Global Engineering Leader, where he drove digital transformation using Cloud, Big Data, and AI. He also led the transformation of engineering teams to DevOps and modernized platforms using microservices. At Microsoft, he was the Senior Director of Software Engineering, where he built modern big data and integration platforms to provide key insights and advanced analytics to multibillion-dollar businesses. He led a team of 200+ software engineers, architects, managers, and SRE's and enabled DevOps to provide world-class customer experience and innovation. Murali has a diverse educational background and has completed a Chief Technology Officer(CTO) Program from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and Sri Venkateswara University. He has also completed a Certificate Course in Machine Learning & Data Sciences from Stanford University. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.
